Data our website providers (not us) collect

Automattic

This site is based on the WordPress platform which is run by Automattic. WordPress does not collect any personal data. The privacy policy of Automattic is found here.

Google webfonts

For uniform representation of fonts, Lidefuld uses web fonts provided by Google. (We would prefer to pay for it rather than paying with data. Regrettably, this is not possible.)

When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose your browser has to establish a direct connection to Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our plugin. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.

Further information about handling user data, can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. An excerpt states:

“The Google Fonts API is designed to limit the collection, storage, and use of end-user data to what is needed to serve fonts efficiently.” “[…] requests for fonts are separate from and do not contain any credentials you send to google.com while using other Google services that are authenticated, such as Gmail.” “The font files themselves are cached for one year […] When millions of websites all link to the same fonts, they are cached after visiting the first website and [the] result is that website visitors send very few requests to Google”

Paypal

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Please see the PayPal Privacy Policy for more details.

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

Woocommerce

We use Woocommerce’s plugin to drive our storefront. Woocommerce’s privacy policy is to be found here.

Instagram

We use a plugin to show the latest photos from our Instagram feed. Instagram is part of the Facebook group (at least until the American anti-trust legislation is either updated or enforced) so we are pretty sure that some kind of data is transferred (in is not declared anywhere).
