Magnificus Magnifying Lid

Whisky! That delightful amber coloured dram which draws warmth, taste, and aromas to any occasion. However, some of the joyful aromas are very volatile and will evaporate quickly. Glass lids retain the aromas inside your whisky glass until you are ready to nose your whisky (or other spirit). This allows the full range of notes to be detected. No share for the angels – and keep the fruit flies at bay!

As we grow older (in our personal and hard-earned experience) printed letters seem to get smaller. The small letters are everywhere: on the bottle labels, in the newspaper (or the smartphon).

So, we came up with the idea combine the two needs into one product: The Magnificent, Marvelous, Magnificus Magnifying Glass Lid and Lens – or 330% (more or less) enlargement!

The lid fits very well with the famous Glencairn Whisky Glass as well as with the classic Copita glass which is traditionally used for sherry and port wine.

The Glass Lid is made of 100% borosilicate glass using the same precision glass moulding process that is used for optical lenses. The optical quality of the magnification is therefore extremely high.

Some might call our Magnificus Magnifying Lid a double convex optical lens. We call it a perfectly playful and useful product that serves a real purpose.
